Once the different half-finished
products are welded and assembled, the metal takes a
dark color if it treated with the flame. This happens
because of the oxidation phenomenon.
In order to obviate this inconvenience, the pieces are
put in a solution of water and sulphuric acid of in
very low concentration.
The operation is called pickling: the jewel,
submerged for a few seconds in this solution, takes
a matt white and milky color
